Ingredients
  

Apples
  • 6 cups peeled and chopped apples about 6-8 medium apples
Sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg ground
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves ground
Acid
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare the Apples
  1. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
Combine Ingredients
  1. In a slow cooker, combine the chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and lemon juice.
Cook
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the apples are soft and the mixture is thick.
Blend
  1. Once cooked, use an immersion blender or transfer to a blender to puree until smooth.
Store
  1. Transfer the apple butter to sterilized jars and let cool before sealing.

Notes
