- 4 large bell peppers (green or red)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup sliced onions
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1 cup provolone cheese (or cheddar)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Cut tops off bell peppers and remove seeds; place upright in the dish.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat, draining excess fat.
- Add onions and mushrooms; cook until softened.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Fill each pepper with the meat mixture and top with cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
Notes
