Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans and line with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix sugar and oil until combined. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla extract, and food coloring until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture; mix until just combined.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting with whipped cream cheese frosting made by beating together cream cheese and butter until fluffy; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla.
